The Sound of a Resonant Life

The Sound of a Resonant Life
A Faith-Filled Journey in Music & Living. Exploring the gifts of music, the warmth of the kitchen, and the art of a quiet, intentional life.

They say that in music, resonance occurs when one vibrating object causes another to vibrate at the same frequency. It creates a sound that is fuller, deeper, and louder than the original.

As I begin this digital journal, The Brass Resonance, I am seeking a life that resonates with the heart of God. Through these reflections, I hope to share insights and experiences that encourage others on their own journeys.

First and Foremost: The Walk

Before there is a melody or a meal, there is a Creator. My walk with God isn't just a part of my life; it is the atmosphere I want to breathe in. This space will be a place for me to process what He is teaching me—through the scriptures I read and the quiet moments of prayer that ground my day.

The Strings and the Wood

I have always found that God speaks clearly through the arts. Whether I am learning to navigating a complex Celtic reel on the mandolin, finding the deep soul of a cello line, or exploring the bright snap of a classic banjo, music is my favorite way to worship. Here, I’ll share my progress in learning:

  • Fingerstyle guitar and worship music.
  • The rhythmic joy of Bluegrass and Irish folk.
  • The unique voices of the cello and mandolin.

The Art of the Everyday

A resonant life isn't just lived on a stage or in a pew; it’s lived at the kitchen table and in the pages of a notebook. You’ll find me sharing:

  • In the Kitchen: The slow, meditative joy of cooking for loved ones.
  • On the Page: My journey with "analog" living—using my Traveler’s Notebook and fountain pens to document life, even in a world full of technology.

An Invitation

This blog is my way of "tuning my instrument" to the frequency of Grace. I hope that as I share my journey with faith, music, and the simple joys of home, you might find a bit of resonance for your own walk, too.

May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable to you,
Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14 CSB
